Klay C. (KC) Ahrens
is a partner with Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC and concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, including construction and design defects, water intrusion, mechanic’s liens, bonds, delay and disruption, payment, insurance claims and disputes.
Ahrens also has extensive experience defending automobile accident related claims, general liability matters, including coverage disputes, and defending consumer claims and class action lawsuits brought under the Truth-In-Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Minnesota Motor Vehicle Retail Installment Sales Act and Consumer Fraud Act.
Ahrens is admitted to practice law in the state courts of Minnesota, U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit. He is a member of the Hennepin County, Minnesota State and American Bar Associations He has been a frequent CLE lecturer on insurance law, including Minnesota No-Fault and UM/UIM.
Ahrens received his J.D., cum laude, from the Hamline University School of Law in 1993, and completed his undergraduate work at Concordia College ( Moorhead, MN) in 1989, graduating cum laude with a B.A. in English and Communications.
