Matthew J. Franken
is an attorney with Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC, and concentrates his practice in real estate, commercial, and construction litigation.  He assists clients in areas including commercial and real estate disputes, construction defects, insurance coverage, and environmental matters.

Prior to joining Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC, Matt gained substantial experience in business litigation and environmental law. 

Licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Minnesota as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, Matt is a member of the American Bar Association, the Hennepin County and Minnesota State Bar Associations, and the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association.

From 2004-2008, Matt has been named to the Rising Star© list by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine, represented among the top 2.5% of young attorneys in the state.

Matt obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota, graduating cum laude.  He completed his undergraduate studies at St. Olaf College, graduating cum laude, with a departmental distinction in biology and an environmental studies concentration.
